VPL (Visible Panty Lines) is a series of silkscreen prints on cellophane. Silkscreen printing is a commercial method and cellophane is an industrial product. By using these materials in a delicate way to create a quiet and intimate space, viewers are faced with the contrast between a personal item and the commercial, mass-produced form of packaging it represents. The transparency of the cellophane cut-outs and the strength of their cast shadows, in a sense parallels the idea of underwear as an object of significance, as something that has an effect, despite the object itself being seldom visible.
